Danube, a technology consulting and product firm, seeks a senior-level interaction designer for a comprehensive redesign of our company website. Primary goals of the redesign include: Improved ease of use with a streamlined informational and navigational structure; Increased credibility and aesthetic appeal with a more contemporary look; Incorporation of a recently redesigned identity and brand; A customer-accessible library for supporting product and service documentation; A platform for advertising and promotional videos and events.

The ideal candidate will have a breadth of interaction design experience, with demonstrable skills in website design, information architecture, and software user interface design. This position is a 90 day contract with potential for full time employment. Contractor will be responsible for working at our Bellevue offices each day, and should provide his/her own workstation and software. No telecommuters please. The contractor will work directly with in-house production and management staff, and will be responsible for all stages of the design process, from initial conceptualization and navigational organization, to page layout and final file preparation, to working with development for production.

Qualifications:

• Four-year design degree in Visual Communications, Technical Communications, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent
• At least five years' experience designing comprehensive websites for a variety of corporate clients
• A balance of aesthetic and analytical design skills
• Proven ability to target an audience and convey a company's business and identity in an appealing and efficient online tool.
• History of successful collaboration with in-house development and production teams

Additional Skills Sought:

• Software user interface design experience
• Experience designing for PHP development
• Proficiency in creating document templates in Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of Scrum practices, roles, and artifacts
