ScrumWorks Basic Product Overview

Before you begin, it's important to understand the ScrumWorks Basic product architecture. ScrumWorks Basic has a server component and two clients. Read the more about the ScrumWorks Basic client-server architecture.

ScrumWorks Basic Installation

The first step is to install the ScrumWorks Basic server.
  1. Select your server platform. ScrumWorks Basic Server runs on Windows XP/Vista, Linux, and Mac OS X 10.4+.
  2. Download your desired distribution.
  3. Once you've selected and downloaded your ScrumWorks Basic Server distribution, carefully follow the installation instructions for either Windows, OS X, or Linux.
  4. Now that your ScrumWorks Basic Server is installed and running, launch your ScrumWorks Basic Desktop Client by following the instructions in the Desktop Client User Guide.
  5. Install a license. ScrumWorks Basic requires a valid license for operation. A trial license is available on the ScrumWorks Basic web site, or alternatively you may request a trial license during the server installation (above). In either case, the license comes in zip format. Once you've downloaded it, unzip the license file and apply it via the "Licensing" button on the ScrumWorks Basic Desktop Client login prompt.

Note, the licenses applies to the server, so once your license is installed subsequent Desktop Client users will not need to apply a license.
  6. Log in. ScrumWorks Basic comes with a default user "administrator" with password "password" (less quotes). Once logged in, the administrator may create new users in the system.
That's it! You should be up and running with ScrumWorks Basic. Please check our support resources for more help.
