Getting Started Using ScrumWorks Pro
The following guide is designed to take you through obtaining ScrumWorks Pro, installation, and first usage steps.
  1. If you are a ScumWorks Basic user and are considering an upgrade to ScrumWorks Pro, please follow the upgrade guides for either Windows, OS X, or Linux.
  2. The first step is to install the ScrumWorks Pro server. Select your server platform. ScrumWorks Pro Server runs on
    Windows® XP/Vista/7/Server 2003/Server 2008, Linux, and Mac OS® X 10.5.2+.
  3. Once you've selected and downloaded your ScrumWorks Pro Server distribution, carefully follow the installation instructions for either Windows, OS X, or Linux.
  4. Now that your ScrumWorks Pro Server is installed and running, launch your ScrumWorks Pro Desktop Client by following the instructions in the Getting Started Tutorial or in the Desktop Client User Guide.
  5. Install the license you downloaded. ScrumWorks Pro requires a valid license for operation. A trial license was supplied with your download link. This license will allow you to use the product for 30 days. You can request a permanent license from CollabNet at any time during those 30 days by clicking here.

Your license file should have a ".license" extension. Your license may be in a zip archive. In that case, first unzip it and then apply the license file via the "Licensing" button on the ScrumWorks Pro Desktop Client login prompt.

Note, licenses apply to the server, so once your license is installed subsequent Desktop Client users will not need to apply a license.

  6. Log in. ScrumWorks Pro comes with a default Administrator user "administrator" with password "password" (less quotes). Once logged in, the administrator should change the default password and may add new users in the system through the User > User Manager menu.
  7. Create a Product. Use the "New Product Creation Wizard" to create a product, add users, and setup teams.

That's it! You should be up and running with ScrumWorks Pro. Please check our support resources for more help.
