Windows to Unix Migration

Backup existing data

The first migration step is to backup the ScrumWorks Pro server you intend to migrate. Although the migration process should not affect your existing data, it is always a good idea to back up data before upgrading.

Please refer to the backup documentation.

Upgrade to Latest ScrumWorks (Windows)

You must upgrade your existing Windows-based ScrumWorks Pro server installation to the latest release before migrating.

Follow the appropriate upgrade instructions before continuing this migration guide.

Shut down any existing ScrumWorks service

The ScrumWorks Pro service must be shutdown prior to running the setup program in the next step. This is done one of two ways:

  • from the Windows Start Menu, locate the ScrumWorks Pro Server folder and select the Shutdown option; or
  • locate "Services" from the Control Panel and shutdown ScrumWorks Pro server.
